Unveiled during the MWC 2018 tradeshow in Barcelona, HMD Global-owned Nokia’s Nokia 1 smartphone is now official in India.
The main highlight of the smartphone is the integration of Android Oreo Go version. With this, the Nokia 1 comes with support for the Go version of various Google apps.
For those who don’t know, Android Oreo Go version is the toned down variant of Android Oreo 8.0 operating system meant for low-end smartphones with up to 1GB of RAM.
In terms of the specifications, the Nokia 1 comes with a 4.5-inch FWVGA IPS display and is powered by Quad-core MediaTek MT6737M with Adreno 304 GPU ticking at 1.1GHz. The smartphone comes equipped with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of inbuilt storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB with the help of a memory card.
On the camera front, there is a 5-megapixel primary snapper with fixed focus and LED flash, while the one at the front is rated at 2-megapixel. The Nokia 1 gets its fuel from a 2,150mAh battery and is home to dual SIM card slots.
Additionally, the smartphone is topped with several connectivity options such as 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (2.4GHz), Bluetooth v4.2, and GPS. The device comes in Warm Red and Dark Blue colour options.
The Nokia 1 comes with a price tag of Rs 5,499 and will be up for grabs, starting March 28. Furthermore, the Xpress On covers in packs of Azure and Grey or Yellow and Pink will be available in April, priced at Rs 450.
