Microsoft, under the Microsoft Garage project, has unveiled a new app, dubbed the Photos Companion app for easy transferring of photos.
Commenting on the new app, Microsoft, Photos team said, “Our solution was to build an app that would support direct wireless transfer between any phone or mobile device and the Photos app on any Windows 10 PC. This would enable students to transfer media to their own computers … or to a shared, project PC … without worrying about network speeds or mobile data charges.”
The Photos Companion app allows users to transfer his or her pictures and videos to a desktop or a laptop running Windows 10 operating system. The app, connected to Windows Photos app via QR code scanning will transfer the selected photos and videos to the laptop or the PC over a connected Wi-Fi network.
Users can make a video in the Windows Photos app and the transferred media can be added to the video, with an added theme. Additionally, users can edit, customize with ink, and share with friends, the transferred images and videos.
The Microsoft Photos Companion app is available to download via Google Play Store and the App Store.
