Micromax Canvas 2 Plus with Infinity display launched in India


Indian company Micromax has unveiled a new budget smartphone in its Canvas series (restoring the popular Canvas series), dubbed the Micromax Canvas 2 Plus in India.

The main highlight of the smartphone is the 5.7-inch HD IPS Infinity display with an aspect ratio rated at 18:9 for thin bezels.

The Canvas 2 Plus is powered by quad-core clocked at 1.3GHz, coupled with 3GB of RAM. The smartphone comes equipped with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. One the camera front, there is a 13-megapixel rear snapper and an 8-megapixel front camera.

The smartphone is backed by a huge 4,000mAh battery and runs Android 7.0 Nougat. Additionally, the Canvas 2 Plus has a fingerprint scanner, supports Face Unlock feature, and supports 22 Indian languages.

Commenting on the launch, Vikas Jain, Co-Founder, Micromax Informatics said, “Over the last few years, as the Indian handset and telecom industry has undergone dynamic shift, the focus of consumers is shifting from just the hardware, to overall connected experience. Therefore, to address the consumer needs, we are coming up with Canvas 2 Plus with compelling features like infinity screen, face unlock feature, compelling battery etc. We expect Canvas 2 Plus to yet again set a bench mark and revolutionize the overall smartphone adoption.

The Micromax Canvas 2 Plus is priced at Rs 8,999 and will be up for grabs across retail stores in India.
