After a heap of leaks, rumours and speculations, Huawei has brought the highly-anticipated P20 and P20 Pro in the P series to the stage of the event held in France. The company has also unveiled the Porsche Design Mate RS alongside.
Huawei P20 and P20 Pro
Starting with the P20 and P20 Pro, the smartphones have a common highlight- the arguably famous notch which houses the earpiece and the front camera. Additionally, Huawei has added the ability to remove the notch with the help of a software setting.
The displays for the both the P20 and P20 Pro are FullView Full HD+ in nature, rated at 5.8-inch and 6.1-inch, respectively.
The one most attractive feature for the Huawei P20 Pro, other than the notch is the much-rumoured triple-camera setup at the back arranged vertically. There is an 8-megapixel telephoto lens, a 20-megapixel monochrome lens, and a 40-megapixel RGB lens, setting new trend in the camera technology. With the usual Leica branding, the camera sensors come with the support of up to 5x Hybrid Zoom.
The Huawei P20, on the other hand, features a dual-camera setup rated at 12-megapixel and 20-megapixel.
Both the P20 and the P20 Pro support, Ultra Snapshot mode for taking pictures in less than 0.3 seconds, 6-axis stabilisation, 960fps super slow motion and sport a 24-megapixel front camera with AI beautification and 3D portrait lighting.
The smartphones are powered by the company’s Kirin 970 processors and run Android 8.1 Oreo. While the P20 comes with 6GB of RAM, 128GB and 3,400mAh battery, the P20 Pro has 6GB of RAM, 128GB of ROM and 4,000mAh battery. The batteries of both the smartphones come with AI-powered battery management. Additionally, both the smartphones come with Google ARCore, and Huawei HiAI Ecosystem for an improved app experience.
The Huawei P20 and P20 Pro, in new and vibrant ombre-toned Twilight colour with Pink Gold, Black and Midnight Blue are priced at Euros 649 (around Rs 52,340) and Euros 899 (around Rs 72,500), respectively.
Huawei Porsche Design Mate RS
The Huawei Porsche Design Mate RS is the premium smartphone in collaboration with Porsche and comes with a rear triple-camera module and a 4,000mAh battery, much like the P2O Pro. The smartphone comes with microcapsule PCM for maintenance of temperature, claimed to be the world’s first to come with one.
The smartphone features a 6-inch OLED 2K display with 18:9 aspect ratio, comes in 6GB of RAM and two ROM options: 256GB and a massive 512GB, and runs Android 8.1 Oreo. Additionally, the smartphone supports both rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and an in-display one, and comes with the support for wireless charging.
The Huawei Porsche Design Mate RS comes in Black and Red colour options, and is priced at Euros 1,695 or Rs 1,36,700 (6GB RAM/256GB ROM) and Euros 2,095 or Rs 1,70,000 (6GB RAM/512GB ROM).
