Honor’s bit for ‘Make in India’: Honor 9 Lite to be manufactured locally

Furthering its commitment to the ‘Make in India’ initiative, Huawei sub-brand Honor has announced the local manufacturing of its Honor 9 Lite smartphone in India.

P Sanjeev, Vice-President, Sales, Huawei Consumer Business Group stated, “When we started manufacturing devices in September 2016 with Honor Holly 3, it was our first step towards bringing Honor closer to our fans in India in the years to come. The local production of our top-seller Honor 9 Lite today is yet another milestone in our 16 year journey in India. The “Make in India” initiative has been a great opportunity for us to contribute to India’s evolution in the technology and manufacturing sector.

For those who have forgotten, the Honor 9 Lite has the 5.65-inch full HD+ IPS FullView display with an aspect ratio rated at 18:9, and the four cameras (two at the back rated at 13-megapixel and 2-megapixel and another pair at the front, also standing at 13-megapixel and 2-megapixel), as its highlights.

The smartphone is powered by the company’s octa-core Kirin 659 processor and comes in two RAM/ROM configurations: 3GB RAM/32GB ROM (Rs 10,999) and 4GB RAM/64GB ROM (Rs 14,999), both the options expandable up to 128GB via a memory card. The Honor 9 Lite is backed by a 3,000mAh battery and runs Android 8.0 Oreo with Huawei’s EMUI 8.0 on top.

The dual-SIM Honor 9 Lite is accompanied by a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and supports Face Unlock.

Additionally, Honor claims to have sold around one million units of the Honor 9 Lite, available via Flipkart.
