HMD Global announces Nokia 2.1, Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 5.1


HMD global-owned Nokia has introduced three new smartphones in the affordable segment (the upgraded variants of the existing Nokia 2, 3, and 5), dubbed the Nokia 2.1, the Nokia 3.1 and the Nokia 5.1.

Nokia 2.1

Starting with the Nokia 2.1, the upgraded variant of the Nokia 2 is an Android Oreo Go-powered device. The Nokia 2.1 comes with a bigger 5.5-inch HD display and is powered by an upgraded Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 as compared to the predecessor.

The smartphone has the same 8-megapixel rear snapper with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front camera. It is backed by a relatively smaller 4,000mAh battery and comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable internal storage. Blue and Copper, Blue and Silver, and Gray and Silver colours and comes with a price tag of Euros 115.

Nokia 3.1

The Nokia 3.1 falls under the Android One initiative by Google and is upgrade to the Nokia 3. It comes with a 5.2-inch display with the screen resolution and aspect ratio rated at 1,440 x 720 pixels and 18:9, respectively. The smartphone has an upgraded MediaTek MT6755 chipset and comes in two RAM/ROM variants: 2GB RAM/16GB ROM and 3GB RAM/32GB ROM.

The Nokia 3.1 features a 13-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel front snapper, a 2,990mAh battery and runs Android 8.1 Oreo. The Nokia 3.1 comes in Blue and Copper, Black and Chrome, and White Iron colour variants and is priced at Euros 139 (2GB RAM/16GB ROM) and Euros 169 (3GBR AM/32GB ROM).

Nokia 5.1

Lastly, the Nokia 5.1 (upgraded variant of Nokia 5) too comes under the Android One initiative. It has a 5.5-inch screen with a screen resolution rated at 2,160 x 1,080 pixels and an aspect ratio standing at 18:9. The device is powered by MediaTek MT6750 and has the same RAM/ROM configurations as the Nokia 3.1.

The Nokia 5.1 comes with a 16-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front shooter, is backed by a 2,970mAh battery and runs Android 8.1 Oreo. The Nokia 5.1 comes in copper, tempered blue and black colour options and is priced at Euros 189 (2GB RAM/16GB ROM) and Euros 219 (3GB RAM/32GB ROM).

The Nokia 5.1 and 2.1 will arrive in July 2018, while the Nokia 3.1 will launch next month.
