Comio, the homegrown brand, will launch two budget smartphones on 15 February 2018, to grow its presence in the market across sectors and at the same time mulling options to start its own manufacturing unit in India with an estimated investment of around 250 crores for next two years.
The Comio smartphone brand has started sending invites for the anticipated launch. They have kept a theme for it saying, ‘Hum Youth Ko Lite Nahi Lete’. Both these smartphones will be youth-centric and might feature 13MP camera, 32GB of ROM with a price of just under Rs 8,000. They might come in three different colors.
Currently, Hi-Pad and V-Sun manufactures smartphones for Comio at Noida and Bawal plant respectively.
The Topwise-backed company is also eyeing the revenue figure of 700 crores by the end of this financial year by selling around 1 million devices till March 31, 2018. Anil Tiwari, Product Head at Comio said, “Our target is Tier 2 and Tier 3 towns and cities and they demand storage, good music output and bigger battery life.” He also added that the offline will be the focus of Comio for getting deep penetration.
Comio is going to increase its network of 30,000 retailers and 800 distributors while strengthening its after-sales touch points to more than 800 across 550 towns. Comio seems quite upbeat as it has predicted its revenue to reach Rs 2,100 crores by the end of next financial year (2018-19). The company has been able to get the maximum sales from Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
