Android P is now officially Android 9.0 Pie


After announcing its next-gen operating system, dubbed the Android P, Google has now made it official with it being christened Android 9.0 Pie.

The new operating system is mostly based on AI for a smarter and faster usage. The new OS is adaptive in nature and helps users optimize battery with the Adaptive Battery feature and manage brightness using Adaptive Brightness feature.

App Actions predicts tasks users perform to carry out such tasks in future for easy and convenient usage. The new Slices feature brings important portion of a particular app to the display for easy accessibility. Additionally, Intuitive Navigation will allow users to switch between apps using gestures.

The new Digital Wellbeing feature (which is currently in beta) allows users to use new tools for a better usage, along with the new Dashboard feature which lets users keep an eye on his or her usage. App Timers sets daily time limit for app usage and the Do Not Disturb feature automatically puts the smartphone to sleep upon hitting a set time.

Furthermore, other features include various camera improvements, support for notched smartphones, enhanced notifications, enhanced privacy and security, new accessibility menu, and various other improvements and enhancements.

The new Android 9.0 Pie is now available for Google Pixel users, with it reaching other Android devices soon.
