The just-announced Samsung Galaxy Note9, with its on-device artificial intelligence (AI), is a prime example of this.
Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform, Samsung’s latest flagship phone processes AI at the edge, thanks to the Qualcomm AI Engine. The AI hardware is comprised of the Qualcomm Hexagon Vector Processor, Qualcomm Adreno GPU, and Qualcomm Kryo CPU, and its software runs on the Qualcomm Neural Processing SDK. Together, they support faster response times and more efficient power usage than our previous platforms when the Galaxy Note9 runs AI applications.

Because the process occurs on-device and not in the cloud, enhanced photos are produced almost immediately, without any editing experience necessary.
