Accelerated Mobile Pages now on email

Google has brought its Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) to email under the Gmail Developer Preview of “AMP for Email.”

Google, in a blog post said,For the past few years, we’ve worked to make mobile pages load faster through an open-source framework called Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP). AMP started as an effort to help publishers, but as its capabilities have expanded over time, it’s now one of the best ways to build rich web pages. With this came the opportunity to modernize one of the most popular places where people spend their time: email. Today, we’re bringing the power of AMP to email through the Gmail Developer Preview of ‘AMP for Email’.

The integration of AMP in email will allow for faster and more interactive emailing. Additionally, the AMP will allow users to access various tasks such as filling up a questionnaire form, scheduling an appointment and much more, directly in email.

For those who don’t, Accelerated Mobile Pages or AMP is a program which calls for faster loading of web pages.

Additionally, several companies such as Pinterest, and Doodle are testing ways to implement AMP in email.

AMP for email is now available, with it to reach Gmail soon.
