The new panel is being marketed as the “Samsung Everest” display. It marks the Android debut of Samsung’s M16 luminescent material and is claimed to be the world’s first mobile display to combine 2K resolution with a 165Hz refresh rate.

The panel offers a 2K resolution with 508 PPI pixel density and supports a 165Hz refresh rate. iQOO says the high refresh rate has been optimised for various daily high-frequency usage scenarios. The display also maintains a 100% initial frame brightness ratio, which is designed to reduce motion blur when showing fast-moving content.

The Samsung Everest panel also introduces the 2K LEAD 2.0 display architecture. iQOO claims that this technology can reduce power consumption by 30% compared with standard OLED panels. The company also says the display consumes 31% less power than conventional 1.5K panels.

iQOO 16 With Up to 10,000 Nits Brightness

The iQOO 16’s Samsung Everest display will offer a manual peak brightness of 1,100 nits, while its global peak brightness can reach 2,800 nits. Local peak brightness goes as high as 10,000 nits.

The display uses an industry-exclusive tri-ambient light omnidirectional sensing system and comes with a pre-installed anti-reflective (AR) high-transmittance screen protector.

Each panel will also receive individual colour calibration. According to the newly revealed technical material, this improves brightness uniformity by 22% and colour uniformity by 40%.

The display covers 1.24x the DCI-P3 colour gamut and supports gaming colour gamut expansion technology and end-to-end true colour mapping. It has also received Dolby Vision certification.

iQOO 16 – 500Hz Touch Sampling and 5,000Hz Instantaneous Sampling

iQOO is further using its proprietary Q-Flex control technology for touch response, which operates at the game engine level. The system supports up to 500Hz multi-finger touch sampling and up to 5,000Hz instantaneous touch sampling with the aim of reducing system latency.

The display also supports up to 3,300Hz high-frequency PWM dimming along with full-brightness DC dimming. It has also received TÜV Rheinland Full Care Display certification and TÜV Rheinland Non-Polarized Light certification.

The panel uses a Non-Polarized Natural Light Display technology. According to laboratory measurements carried out in collaboration with the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine and vivo Visual Health Lab, the technology showed a 50% improvement in eye redness, 85% improvement in tear film/eye lubrication and a 51% reduction in ciliary muscle tension.

The brand is expected to reveal more specifications and details about the phone’s market availability closer to the official launch.
