Tech platforms think talking to your friends or strangers isn’t enough so now they want to add an AI chatbot to your social media circle. First it was Snapchat with its ‘My AI’ chatbot, and now Instagram is also working on an AI chatbot for the platform.
These AI chatbots are similar to ChatGPT wherein you can ask questions, and even advice in the case of Instagram.

Meta is reportedly testing an Instagram AI chatbot that offers users the choice of switching between 30 different personalities.

A screenshot (Opens in a new window) shared on Twitter by leaker Alessandro Paluzzi
(Opens in a new window) shows what looks like the intro screen of the feature. It says users can “choose between 30 AI personalities and find which one you like best,” as well as offering to help users write messages in a bid to “find the best way to express yourself.”

Paluzzi is well known for sharing accurate information ahead of its release, such as a BeReal Instagram clone, and added that the feature would be able to answer questions and give advice.

The move would land Instagram in direct competition with Snapchat’s “My AI” chatbot, which launched back in February. Powered by OpenAI’s ChatGPT, “My AI” hasn’t exactly landed glowing reviews (Opens in a new window)since its release.

The news that Meta is testing an Instagram AI chatbot doesn’t come entirely out of the blue. In fact, the company has been pretty vocal about its intentions to move into the AI chatbot field.

In February this year, CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the company was creating a “top-level product group focused on generative AI” used in chatbots.

In that announcement Zuckerberg also said Meta was focusing on “developing AI personas that can help people in a variety of ways” and was exploring how to make AI experiences available through text-based chat “in WhatsApp and Messenger.”

What are Instagram Chatbots and how to create them?

Here’s the Deal

90% of Instagram users follow at least one business.
But most brands fail in converting these followers into actual customers. And that’s where Instagram bots come in.

With an Instagram chatbot, you can convert these followers into customers and automatically answer any questions about your products or services. And you can create one yourself in a matter of minutes.

Let’s dive in.

What is an Instagram bot?

An Instagram chatbot or Instagram DM bot is a computer program that can automatically reply to messages on Instagram.
Instagram bots work 24/7 and can have multiple conversations with various people, at the same time.
They are often used to convert Instagram followers into customers, automatically answer questions, and provide information about a company’s products or services.

Instagram AI chatbot

Instagram’s AI chatbot is currently in the works and it was discovered by app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi who regularly shares updates on the app.
According to the screenshots, Instagram’s AI chatbot will answer your questions and give advice as well. There are also 30 AI personalities to choose from, and you can pick the one you prefer the most.

Instagram also wants you to “find the best way to express yourself and get help writing messages.” So you will most likely get advice on how to write messages on Instagram. This feature is still in the works, and it’s not clear whether Instagram will launch it in the future.
But considering how Instagram is very experimental, and its history of getting inspiration from other apps, it’s very likely the AI chatbot will arrive on the app.

We don’t know how exactly it will work on Instagram yet but we’re expecting it to be similar to Snapchat’s My AI chatbot. Snapchat users can chat with this AI chatbot and ask questions.
Built using OpenAI’s GPT technology that powers ChatGPT, My AI can also suggest recommendations from Snap Map, relevant lenses, weekend activities, and more. But Snapchat’s My AI already landed up in some trouble when it gave advice on how you can mask the smell of alcohol and weed, to a teenager.

In addition to the AI chatbot, Instagram is also working on a text-based app that could serve as an alternative to Twitter. It’s going to be a separate app but it will work with your Instagram account and pull all you content and data as well. This app is also expected to launch this month.
As for the AI chatbot, there’s no speculation yet on when the feature will roll out.

Faqs

1) Instagram Is Reportedly Working on an AI Chatbot With Dozens of Personality Options.Details?

Ans) Instagram might be the latest social media platform to integrate AI into its platform.
A leaked screenshot on Twitter by a mobile developer and self-proclaimed “leaker” revealed an image of an AI chatbot on Instagram, stating the bot will be able to “answer questions and give advice,” as well as give users 30 different personality traits to choose from.

In late February, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a Facebook post that the company is working on a variety of generative AI tools across the company, including “developing AI personas that can help people in a variety of ways.” While he doesn’t mention Instagram in the post, Zuckerberg mentions that the company is exploring the use of AI with text experiences in WhatsApp and Messenger.
Instagram reps told Entrepreneur that it does not have anything new to share “outside of what’s been said in past earnings calls about AI agents/chatbots.”

If the rumors are true, Instagram would hardly be the first social media platform to implement artificial intelligence into its system. Earlier this year, social media app Snapchat rolled out its “My AI” feature which allowed users to communicate with a customizable, built-in chatbot. However, since its launch, it’s received mixed reviews — to put it lightly.
From parental concerns over the chatbot’s “creepy” responses to general discontent, users flooded the app store with one-star reviews for Snapchat just a week after its global launch.

2) Instagram Explores AI-Powered Chatbot For Enhanced User Interactions.Details?

Ans) Instagram could be working on an AI-powered chatbot of its own. In the heels of ChatGPT’s success, many tech companies have attempted to take advantage of the hype and create similar AI chatbots, including Google that recently made its Bard chatbot public.
Now, it appears that Meta-owned Instagram is also exploring the possibility of incorporating an AI chatbot into the app. According to mobile developer and leaker Alessandro Paluzzi , Instagram’s slated chatbot could answer questions, give advice, and help people write their messages.

Choose from 30 personalities?

A user may be able to choose from 30 AI personalities for the chatbot. For now, this is all we know about the chatbot. Earlier this year, Mark Zuckerberg hinted at the same while saying that his team is “developing AI personas that can help people in a variety of ways.”
In a screenshot shared by Paluzzi on Twitter, one may see how Instagram AI chat could work. The chatbot would be able to answer questions, give advice, take on 30 personalities, and inspire creativity by writing messages.

Instagram hasn’t confirmed the existence of this feature yet, and there’s a good chance that it might not make it past the stage of development. But given the hype and success surrounding generative AI tools, I wouldn’t be surprised if the feature actually makes it to Instagram in the near-future.

Snapchat rolled out a similar feature back in February that incorporates ChatGPT into the app. It’s called “My AI” may be used to ask questions, or to enable chats with human friends. Many users have called Snapchat’s AI feature creepy, while others have expressed concern over how it might handle information.
Regardless, it’ll be exciting to see how Instagram incoporates the AI chatbot into its services.

3) Soon you will get advice from Instagram’s 30 different personalities
Instagram is currently testing its upcoming AI chatbot in DMs and it has some surprising features?

Ans) Artificial intelligence is slowly becoming one of the most crucial parts of human lives as social media applications are starting to adapt to the environment and add AI features, including the Instagram AI chatbot. The Meta-owned application has been testing the chatbot in Instagram DMs, discovered by an app researched on Twitter.

Meta is one of the biggest technology companies in the world, and seeing the immense growth of AI in the social media industry, it is not surprising to see the company implementing more AI-powered solutions to its platforms. The company already has AI implemented into Facebook in different areas; it is time to widen the span with the Instagram AI chatbot.

Instagram AI chatbot: What will it offer?

Alessandro Paluzzi shared some of its features on Twitter and included screenshots to back up their claims. Paluzzi is an app researcher, and they have leaked many features and even new apps coming to different platforms in the past and are considered a reliable source for these kinds of news.

According to Paluzzi, the Instagram AI chatbot “will be able to answer questions and give advice.” Moreover, the user will be able to choose from 30 different personalities before getting an answer.

* Answer questions
* Give you advice
* Choose from 30 different personalities
* Inspire your creativity
As seen in the image below, the Instagram AI chatbot can help you under three headings, and it will help you “bring AI to your chats for a more fun and engaging experience.” It will answer your questions and give advice, you will be able to chat with 30 different personalities and find which one you like best, and finally, it will inspire your creativity by helping you find the best way to express yourself and get help writing messages.

How to access the Instagram AI chatbot

Once it rolls out, it will be pretty easy to access the chatbot in DMs. Think of giving Midjourney a task using the “/imagine” prompt. In order to access the Instagram AI chatbot, you will write “@” in DMs, and it will automatically show the AI option right above your message. Paluzzi has shared an example of it, and you can see it in the image below.
Snapchat’s My AI also has a pretty close design, but it appears as a different chat on people’s chat page. Instagram decided to make it available through a prompt. However, keep in mind that Paluzzi is an app researcher, which means that this feature is still not official, and there is still more time until Instagram rolls it out. The company will need more time to improve its features in the coming months.

Artificial Intelligence and social media

Artificial intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing how we engage and communicate on social media sites. Social media marketers can use AI technologies to produce and modify content, monitor and analyze user activity, target and optimize advertisements, and locate and cooperate with influencers.

Artificial intelligence-powered content production systems may assist marketers in creating interesting and relevant text and graphic material for their social media campaigns. Lately, for example, is a program that analyzes previous social media postings and creates fresh material based on best practices. ChatGPT is a chatbot system that can create human-like natural language answers. Based on diverse algorithms, generative AI may also generate unique images, films, music, and text.

Artificial intelligence in social media marketing provides several chances and benefits for companies to improve their online presence and engagement. Marketers may save time and money by employing AI technologies, enhancing content quality and relevance, increasing user happiness and loyalty, raising conversion rates and income, and gaining a competitive advantage in the market.
Apart from boosting revenue and helping marketers, tools like the Instagram AI chatbot or Snapchat’s My AI, users will have a more pleasant experience, and they will feel like everything is under their hands. This way, regular users will also be able to use the benefits that artificial intelligence offers.

4) Your next friend on Instagram could be an AI; ChatGPT-like chatbot with 30 personalities spotted

Ans) Helpful friends are always there to answer your questions, give you advice, and even support you to express yourself better. Now, it seems Instagram is building an AI friend for you who will do just these things. This clever chatbot will also have the option to choose from 30 different personalities.

A popular engineer Alessandro Paluzzi managed to reverse-engineer Instagram’s code and spot the new AI chatbot. In a tweet, Paluzzi said, “#Instagram is working on bringing AI Agents (Bots) to your chats for a more fun and engaging experience. AI Agents will be able to answer questions and give advice. You’ll be able to choose from 30 different personalities.”

Paluzzi shared a screenshot of the feature. According to the leaked screengrab, Instagram stated, “Bring AI to your chats for a more fun and engaging experience.”

Snapchat had also introduced its own Chatbot version, My AI, which can also do stuff like write haikus, plan trips, and suggest birthday gifts.

But some users found it annoying and complained that it disrupted their Snapchat experience. Others were worried that the chatbot had access to too much personal information, like their locations.

Instagram parent company Meta, has already been exploring the use of AI on its different platforms like Messenger, WhatsApp, and Instagram. The CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, even talked about creating AI personalities that can assist people in various ways. They’re also using AI to improve filters and ads on Instagram.

Meta also has also provided access to tools like Advantage+ that help advertisers find the right audiences and place ads automatically across their platforms. They’re even working on a way for advertisers to create and test ads using AI.

5) Instagram appears to be developing an AI chatbot with 30 different personalities to choose from.Details?

Ans) AI chatbots are seemingly everywhere — and now they might be coming to Instagram.
The social platform appears to be working on an AI chatbot that can answer questions, give advice, and help write messages, according to a tweet from mobile-developer Alessandro Paluzzi, who often reverse engineers Instagram’s code to predict what’s next for the platform.
Users will be able to choose between 30 different personalities for the AI agents, Paluzzi says. His post indicates that it could offer creative solutions to “find the best way to express yourself.”

Instagram did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment regarding the chatbot.
In February, Snapchat started to roll out its own ChatGPT-powered chatbot, dubbed My AI, to less-than-favorable reviews. The chatbot can write haikus, plan trips, and recommend birthday gifts, the company said.

Some users complained that My AI disrupted Snapchat’s user experience, while others complained the chatbot had access to a concerning amount of data — including about their locations.

Meta previously announced that it was planning to experiment with AI on Messenger, WhatsApp, and Instagram. In Februrary, Zuckerberg said the company’s long-term goal was to create “AI personas that can help people in a variety of ways.” On Instagram, he said the company was working on AI to optimize filters and ads.
Meta has also been using AI tools to help boost its ad business. Advantage+, one of these tools, finds audiences and automatically places ads across Meta’s platforms. The company is developing a way for advertisers to create and test ads using AI.

6) Why should you use an Instagram chatbot?

Ans) Instagram has 1 billion active users every month. And 500 million users are using Instagram stories every day.
What is even better about Instagram, is that mostly young people are on it. 71% of the one billion users are under the age of 35.
Besides, 50% of Instagram users follow at least one company, so an extra incentive why should be on there.
But here is the most important reason why you should be on Instagram: 80% of Instagrammers decide whether to buy a product or service on Instagram.
With that many people on this platform, and users deciding whether to buy a product or not, you should be on there.
And it would even better if you have a chatbot on Instagram, because people can then message you whenever they want. And you can use that opportunity to deliver a better customer experience and increase your sales.
So, let’s talk about how you can put a chatbot on Instagram.

7) Who can create an Instagram chatbot?

Ans) There are two types of accounts that can create Instagram chatbots:
* Instagram Business accounts, regardless of the number of followers they have
* Instagram Creator Accounts with less than 500K followers

8) Can you create an Instagram chatbot with a personal profile?

Ans) No, if you want to create an Instagram chatbot, you need to have an Instagram business account or an Instagram creator account.
