Xiaomi might not launch Mi7 at the MWC 2018

A Xiaomi bigwig has now claimed that the company will not unveil any major products or flagships at the 2018 Barcelona trade show, reports Android Headlines. However, ahead of MWC, the firm is expected to introduce Mi MIX 2S, an upgraded version of Mi MIX 2, claims an anonymous Xiaomi spokesperson.

Last week, Xiaomi has already confirmed its presence at the MWC, but it is still unclear about its actual intention. Last year, it has not launched anything in the global trade show in Barcelona, but it appeared in the MWC 2016 and launched the flagship Mi5.

Its absence of product launch in such a major global event implies that it will not unleash Mi 7 or Mi Max 3 smartphones, but rather it can display its new mobile chipset Surge S2, claims a Xiaomi spokesperson. Apart from Xiaomi, HTC, LG and Huawei decided not to unleash their flagship smartphones U12, G7, and P11 respectively. The possible reason perhaps these companies do not want any clash with their biggest rival Samsung as it is going to launch its flagship Galaxy S9 and S9+.

The much-anticipated Mi7 would sport a 5.65-inch Full HD+ display and is expected to feature a bezel-less design same as the Mi MIX. Moreover, rumours also surfaced that Xiaomi might launch a Mi7 Plus model with a massive 6.01-inch OLED display.
