Popular photo-sharing app Instagram has been on a ‘feature adding spree’ since a long time. Furthering this, the app is now rumoured to become home to a new calling feature.
According to a new report by TechCrunch, Instagram is likely to include voice and video calling features to its long dossier, as spotted in Instagram’s APK (Android Application Packages) files. The files suggest the presence of audio and video call icons, most likely in the Instagram Direct section.
For those who don’t know, the facility of voice and video calling are already available on another photo-sharing app Snapchat.
While there is still no on when the new feature will make its entry on Instagram, the presence of hints on the APK files hints at the feature’s definite arrival soon.
To recall, Instagram recently added the privacy settings for the Stories sent via Direct. With this, you will get the ability to choose from options such as ‘View Once’, Allow Replay’ and ‘Keep in Chat’ prior to sending the short-lived photo or video to any particular person, thus, giving you the liberty to set different viewing options for different users.
