OxygenOS 5.0.2 based on Android 8.0 out for OnePlus 5T


OnePlus has started rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo software update with the company’s OxygenOS 5.0.2 on top, for the recently unveiled OnePlus 5T.

The new update, available via OTA, will bring in a new Quick Settings menu and updated Launcher, Gallery, Weather, and File Manager apps. Additionally, the update has introduced the Picture-in-picture mode, AutoFill feature, improved notification channel and much more.

The Android 8.0 Oreo update with OxygenOS 5.0.2 has begun rolling out and will eventually reach out to all the OnePlus 5T users.

To recall, the OnePlus 5T comes with a 6.01-inch full HD+ full Optic AMOLED display with an aspect ratio rated at 18:9 and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. It is backed by a 3,300mAh battery with Dash Charge and runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat with OxygenOS on top.

On the camera front, there are dual cameras rated at 16-megapixel and 20-megapixel with a changed aperture for the secondary shooter and absence of a telephoto lens. The front-facing shooter is rated at 16-megapixel with improvements for low-light photography, using Intelligent Pixel Technology.

Additionally, the OnePlus 5T comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and also supports facial recognition.
