Nokia 6 gets Android 8.0 Oreo


Android 8.0 Oreo now heads to Nokia 6

After getting the beta version of the latest Android 8.0 Oreo operating system, Nokia 6 has now officially started receiving Android 8.0 Oreo.

The new update is available via OTA and is around 1,659MB in size. The Nokia 6 can also be manually updated to Android 8.0 Oreo by simply going to Settings, clicking the System option, and then tapping the Check for Update option.

Android 8.0 Oreo introduces various new features to Nokia 6 such as Picture-in-picture mode, Background limits, new Notification channel, Autofill mode, and much more. Furthermore, the Android 8.0 Oreo update is for both the Chinese and Global variants of the Nokia 6.

In terms of the specifications, the Nokia 6 comes with a 5.5-inch full HD 2.5D curved glass display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor. It has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. On the camera front, the device comes with a 16-megapixel primary shooter along with Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) and dual-tone LED flash while the front-facing camera stands at 8-megapixel.

The smartphone is juiced by a 3,000mAh battery and runs the latest Android 7.0 Nougat. The device also comes with a fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button.

Additionally, HMD Global-owned Nokia is soon to introduce Android 8.0 Oreo to its budget smartphones (such as the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 2) as well.
