As stated earlier, LG has announced a new version of its last year’s flagship- the LG V30, dubbed the LG V30S ThinQ at the still-in-progress MWC 2018.
To start with the main feature, the LG V30A ThinQ comes with improved AI technology. The new AI tech by LG will include Vision AI and Voice AI. Vision AI (with camera features such as AI CAM, QLens and Bright Mode) suggests users with the best shooting modes (portrait, food, pet, landscape, city, flower, sunrise, and sunset) on scanning a particular subject. Various aspects of an image such as angle of view, color, reflections, backlighting, and saturation levels will also be considered to suggest the apt setting. LG has also introduced the low-light shooting mode to adjust the brightness levels.
Additionally, Vision AI will allow users to capture an object and get shopping suggestions using smart image recognition, scan QR codes, and can search images.
Voice AI comes with improved features to perform various tasks using voice commands, with the help of Google Assistant. LG has added new voice commands (Panoramic Photo, Food Photo, Time-lapse (Video), Slow-motion Video, Low-light Photo, AI Cam Photo, Image Search, QR Code Scanning, and Shopping Search) for the same, in addition to 23 existing ones.
In terms of the specs, the LG V30S ThinQ comes with the same 6-inch QHD OLED FullVision display and Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor as the LG V30. The new smartphone has 6GB of RAM and comes in two onboard storage options- 128GB and 256GB, expandable up to 2TB via a memory card.
Optics-wise, there is the same dual-camera module at the back, which includes a 16-megapixel camera senor with the f/1.6 aperture and another one rated at 13-megapixel with f/1.9 aperture, with a 5-megapixel front camera. The device sources power from a 3,300mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 tech and runs Android 8.0 Oreo.
Additionally, the LG V30 comes with improved 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC audio by Bang & Olufsen, IP68 certification for water and dust resistance, MIL-STD 810G certification, and UX 6.0+.
The LG V30S ThinQ comes in new Moroccan Blue and Platinum Gray colour variants. However, there is no word on the availability and price of the smartphone.
