ASUS has unveiled the rumoured ZenFone 5 series at this year’s Mobile World Congress tradeshow in Barcelona. Additionally, the company has launched the ZenFone Max M1 and NovaGo laptop alongside. Here is a look at the devices unveiled:
ASUS ZenFone 5: The ZenFone 5, with iPhone X-like design comes with the camera department and bezel-less display as its highlights. The smartphone sports a 6.2-inch full HD+ display with 2.5D curved glass.
The dual cameras at the back are rated at 12-megapixel featuring Sony IMX363 sensor and an 8-megapixel front camera. The camera department comes with AI capabilities with features such as AI Scene Detection, AI Photo Learning, Real-time Portrait effect, Real-time Beautification and Pro mode.
Other specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor, 4GB/6GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. It is backed by a 3,300mAh battery with BoostMaster fast-charge and AI Charging technologies, and run Android 8.0 Oreo with ZenUI 5.0 on top. Additionally, the ZenFone 5 comes with two five-magnet stereo speakers, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, and ZeniMoji feature (much like Apple’s Animoji) for creation of animated avatars using voice, facial expressions and head movements.
ASUS ZenFone 5Z: The ZenFone 5Z has a design similar to the iPhone X, with dual rear cameras and the bezel-less display, same as the ZenFone 5. The smartphone is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset and comes with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB/256GB of internal storage options. Other specifications remain the same.
ASUS ZenFone 5 Lite: The slightly laddered down variant in the new ZenFone 5 series is the ZenFone 5 Lite which comes with 6-inch full HD+ Full View display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor. It has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM. This one comes with four cameras: two at the back (rated at 16-megapixel and 8-megapixel) and two at the front (20-megapixel and 8-megapixel). It is backed by a 3,300mAh battery, runs Android 8.0 Oreo and comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
ASUS ZenFone Max M1: The smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch Full View display and is powered by octa-core processor, coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage. There is a dual-rear camera setup rated at 13-megapixel and 8-megapixel, while the front camera stands at 8-megapixel. The smartphone is backed by a huge 4,000mAh battery and runs Android 8.0 Oreo.
Additionally, ASUS ahs unveiled the first LTE-enabled laptop, dubbed the NovaGo laptop with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, up to 22 hours of battery life, built-in e-SIM, and comes with Windows Ink, Windows Hello and Cortana.
