Mi India announced the successor to Mi NoteBook 14 series in India, with the launch of the Mi NoteBook 2021 series.

The portfolio includes two series of thin and light laptops – Mi NoteBook Ultra and Mi NoteBook Pro which offer unparalleled speed, performance and media experiences. They are designed to enhance and simplify productivity for power users by placing cutting-edge technology at their fingertips.

Ushering in significant upgrades over the previous generation of the Mi NoteBook series, these laptops come loaded with top-of-the-line specifications such as an Aerospace grade Series 6 Aluminium body with Mi TrueLife+ and TrueLife displays for awe-inspiring, life-like visuals, all-day battery life, Type-C fast charging, and Thunderbolt 4 along with a backlit keyboard. Further, breaking the boundaries of performance in the ultra-light and portable category, these laptops feature the latest 11th Generation Intel Core processors with Intel Iris Xe graphics, coupled with up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM and 512GB of NVMe SSD storage.

Mi NoteBook Ultra has a modern and minimalistic appearance, thanks to its unibody design that balances strength and portability. It is milled out of a single block of Series 6 Aluminium, an aircraft-grade metal alloy precisely cut using a CNC machine. The body chassis is further taken through a process of sandblasting and anodization for a Lustrous grey finish. The entire body weighs just 1.7 kg and is less than 17.9mm thick, making it sleek and super easy to carry around.

With an all-metal body, the hinge is thoughtfully designed to be sturdy yet smooth which allows for easy single-finger opening and a 140-degree tilt for versatile viewing angles. Mi NoteBook Ultra packs ultimate refinement in a minimalist design while being robust to stand the test of time. It comes with an IPS panel that boasts of a screen to body ratio of over 89% and class-leading pixel density of 242 PPI.

Mi NoteBook Ultra supports true to life motion, with a smooth 90Hz refresh rate display to make the user experience more fluidity across the UI and makes casual gaming a delight. Performance and Battery

Mi NoteBook Ultra is powered by the latest 11th Gen TigerLake Intel Core i7 and i5 H35 series processors built on Intel’s 10nm Superfine process technology – these processors are both more powerful and more efficient than the last generation. The i7-11370H has 4 cores that support multi-threading up to 8 threads and can clock up to a maximum of 4.8GHz while operating at a TDP of 35W. This enables enhanced productivity performance and multi-tasking on applications like the Microsoft Office suite. Also, integrated with high-performance Intel Iris X graphics and dedicated AI hardware, Mi NoteBook Ultra is capable of casual gaming and also supports budding creators in workloads like photo editing, design or video editing. Also, with up to 16GB of 3200MHz DDR4 RAM and 512GB of NVMe SSD storage, it is blazing fast while booting up, and with data transfers and application installations.

Mi NoteBook Ultra houses a large 70 WHr battery and offers up to 12 hours of battery life. Also, with the 65W USB Type-C charger, it can charge from 0 to 50% in just under 45 mins.

Productivity and Connectivity

Mi NoteBook Ultra brings a widely requested update with the introduction of a backlit keyboard that comes with three levels of illumination (off, dim and bright). Each key comes with a deep travel distance of 1.5 mm with a concave curved top making typing easier and more accurate with the right tactile feedback. It houses a large, comfortable trackpad that offers 62% more area compared to the previous generation of Mi NoteBook 14 series. The trackpad supports Windows Precision Drivers that support gestures and multi-finger taps for shortcuts to various programs and commands. With a rise in content consumption and virtual meetings, Mi NoteBook Ultra comes with a powerful stereo 2 x 2W speaker setup. The accompanying DTS audio processing app provides preset sound profiles and also customization as per user preference.

It comes with the latest Thunderbolt 4 port, with up to 40 Gbps data bandwidth, power delivery support and is capable of supporting up to two 4K displays. In addition to the future-proof Thunderbolt 4 port, there is an inclusive set of ports: A single USB Type-C port supports data and power delivery, HDMI 1.4 port, a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port, a 3.5mm audio jack as well as an additional USB 2.0 connector for peripherals. Similarly, Mi NoteBook Ultra offers the latest wireless connectivity options: Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1. For additional security and convenience, it brings a seamless fingerprint scanner that supports Windows Hello and is embedded within the power button for fast, secure and easy login.

Mi NoteBook Pro

Mi NoteBook Pro also boasts of a robust Aircraft-grade Series 6 Aluminium alloy chassis. This unibody design enables it to be lightweight at just 17.3mm thin and 1.4 kg light. Even with its compact size, it offers a large 125mm x 81.6mm trackpad with intuitive gesture controls. The keyboard uses scissor switches with a comfortable travel of 1.3mm. Users can also enjoy fast and secure login with the fingerprint scanner that is embedded within the power button.

Mi NoteBook Pro has a 14-inch 2.5K (2560×1600) or QHD+ screen offering incredible sharpness and an immersive viewing experience with an 88% screen-to-body ratio. It also comes with a 16:10 aspect ratio for 5% extra vertical real estate enabling enhanced productivity. Moreover, the display is calibrated to offer accurate colour reproduction with 100% coverage of the sRGB colour gamut and comes with TÜV Low Blue light certification and DC dimming for added eye safety.
