Infinix Hot S3 gets Face Unlock feature via OTA update


The recently launched Hot S3 by Transsion Holdings-owned Infinix has received the Face Unlock feature, available via an over-the-air update.

In order to enable the feature, users are required to head to the Settings, tap the Security option, select Location and Face ID options, and setting up the Face ID (along with a Pin, Password or Pattern) will complete the process.

For those who have forgotten, the Infinix Hot S3 has its major highlight in the form of a 20-megapixel front-facing camera which supports Bokeh effect, dual LED flash and 5p lens. The rear shooter is rated at 13-megapixel with PDAF.

The smartphone comes with a 5.65-inch HD+ Full View display with an aspect ratio rated at 18:9 and is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor. It comes in two RAM/ROM variants- 3GB RAM/32GB ROM (for Rs 8,999) and 4GB RAM/64GB ROM (for Rs 10,999), both the variants expandable up to 256GB with the use of a microSD card.

The Infinix Hot S3 is backed by a 4,000mAh battery and runs the company’s XOS 3 based on Android 8.0 Oreo. Additionally, the Infinix Hot S3 is accompanied by a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The Infinix Hot S3 comes in Sandstone black and Brush Gold colour options.
