Huawei announces the new MateBook D notebook powered by AMD processor

Huawei has expanded its range of MateBook series notebook with the announcement of a new variant, known as MateBook D laptop. Although, the price range of the product is yet to be revealed by the firm, but it is speculated that this particular device would be much cheaper than the Intel Core i5 backed model.

The MateBook D notebook appears with AMD chipset and will be fueled by an AMD Ryzen 5 2500U GPU coupled with Radeon Vega 8 Graphics. With thin bezels and a display resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels the laptop features a 14-inch Full HD screen. It is furnished with 256GB SSD storage and an 8GB RAM for faster processing.

This metal unibody laptop sports four different speakers with Dolby Atmos. Additionally, for faster charging, the product also features Type-C power adapter that is also useful for Huawei’s handsets and tablets. The device weighs 1.45kgs and 5.8mm thick and is powered by a large 57.4Wh large battery. Huawei claims that it is one of the slimmest and lightest laptop in the segment.

In December last year, Huawei has launched refurbished MateBook D notebooks powered by latest 8th generation Intel Core chipsets. The Core i5 variant with 128GB SSD and 1TB HDD storage is priced at CNY 5,488 (approx. Rs 53,696), while the i5 model with 256GB SSD storage carries the price tag of CNY 5,188 (approx. Rs 50,761). The higher-end  Core i7 model is priced at CNY 6,688 (approx. Rs 65,437).
