Xiaomi recently unveiled the Redmi Note 5 and the Redmi Note 5 Pro smartphones in India, and the smartphones have already achieved a milestone of a sale of more than 3,00,000 units in just three minutes during the first flash sale, via Flipkart.
The new was confirmed by Xiaomi, Vice President and Managing Director, Manu Jain, via a post on Twitter. The post further revealed that the new flash sale will take place on February 28.

Additionally, as promised by Xiaomi, the facial recognition feature has begun rolling out to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro users via OTA update to MIUI v9.2.4 in India, according to a tweet.
For those who have forgotten, the Redmi Note 5 comes with a 5.99-inch full HD + display with an aspect ratio rated at 18:9. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, the device comes in two RAM/ROM configurations: 3GB RAM/32GB ROM and 4GB RAM/64GB ROM. On the camera front, the smartphone houses a 12-megapixel rear snapper with PDAF, EIS and LED flash while at the front rests a 5-megapixel shooter with Beauty 3.0 beautification feature and LED flash. The dual-SIM Redmi Note 5 is backed by a 4,000mAh battery and runs Android 7.0 Nougat with MIUI 9.0 on top.
The Redmi Note 5 comes with a price tag of Rs 9,999 (3GB RAM/32GB ROM) and Rs 11,999 (4GB RAM/64GB ROM).
Coming to the Redmi Note 5 Pro is the world’s first smartphone to ship with Qualcomm Snapdragon 836 mobile platform with eight cores, along with Adreno 509 GPU. The smartphone comes with the same display as the Redmi Note 5, and comes in two RAM/ROM options- 4GB RAM/64GB ROM and 6GB RAM/64GB ROM.
The camera department, which is the highlight of the smartphone, comprises a vertically placed dual-camera setup at the back, rated at 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel with LED flash. The front houses a 20-megapixel snapper featuring Sony IMX376 sensor, LED Flash and Beauty 4.0 beautification mode designed for the Indian audience. Both the rear and front shooters support Bokeh effect. The Redmi Note 5 Pro gets its fuel from the same 4,000mAh battery as the Redmi Note 5 and runs MIUI 9.0 based on Android 7.0 Nougat.
The Redmi Note 5 pro is priced at Rs 13,999 (4GB RAM/64GB ROM) and Rs 16,999 (6GB RAM/64GB ROM).
