From Xiaomi to Samsung, you may see these smartphones this festive season

As the festive season has arrived in India, smartphone brands are aiming high to get a major chunk from the Indian market. From Xiaomi to Samsung to Vivo, there are a lot of smartphones expected to be launched in the country in the fourth quarter.

This may give the smartphone brands to revive themselves as the past few months has been not so good for them because of the lockdown.

According to the International Data Corporation’s (IDC) Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, India’s smartphone market registered a sharp year-over-year (YoY) decline of (-50.6%) in the second quarter to 18.2 million units, as the country remained under lockdown through the first half of the quarter. Vendors faced major supply chain disruptions at the beginning of the quarter, and the shortage continued into the rest of the quarter as factories operated at partial capacity even after the lockdown was lifted. The online channel registered a high market share of 44.8% but declined 39.9% YoY in unit terms due to lockdown restrictions on the delivery of electronics as well as severely limited stock for most of the quarter.

Here’s a list, tentative price and specifications of smartphones that may launch in the Indian market in the coming months.

Infinix Zero 8

Chinese smartphone brand Infinix has made Infinix Zero 8 official in Indonesia. And there’s a lot of speculations that it may launch in India in October. However, the official launch date hasn’t been announced yet.

The phone comes with an IPS LCD panel of 6.85 inches. The dual punch-hole display supports Full HD+ resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and 180Hz touch sampling rate. The screen has a resolution of 1080 x 2460 Pixels and 407 PPI pixel density.

In terms of the front camera, the display cutout houses a 48MP main selfie camera and an 8MP ultrawide camera with EIS. And as far as the rear cameras are concerned, the quad-camera system that is led by the Sony IMX686 64MP primary lens that supports 4K video recording and EIS. It is accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide lens, a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP low-light camera.

Infinix Zero 8 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G90T processor. It comes with 8GB of RAM. The Infinix Zero 8 runs Android 10 and is powered by a 4500mAh battery and supports proprietary fast charging.

The Infinix Zero 8 runs XOS 7 based on Android 10 and packs 128GB of inbuilt storage. It was launched in Black, Blue, and White colours.

Connectivity options on the Infinix Zero 8 include Wi-Fi and GPS. Sensors on the phone include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, side-facing fingerprint reader, face unlock, USB-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Talking about the price, it may be priced around Rs 15,000 in India.

Vivo Z6 5G comes with a 6.57-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and 401 PPI pixel density. It has an aspect ratio of 20:9.

Vivo Z6 5G on the rear packs a 48MP primary camera with an f/1.79 aperture, 8MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture, 2MP camera with an f/2.4 aperture and 2MP camera with an f/2.4 aperture. It sports a 16MP camera on the front for selfies, with an f/2.48 aperture.

Vivo Z6 5G is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor that features 1 core clocked at 2.4GHz, 1 core clocked at 2.2GHz and 6 cores clocked at 1.8GHz coupled with 6GB RAM and pack 128GB of inbuilt storage.

The Vivo Z6 5G runs Funtouch OS 10 based on Android 10 and is powered by a 5000mAh battery.

The Vivo Z6 5G is a dual-SIM (GSM) smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM cards. The Vivo Z6 5G measures 163.99 x 75.71 x 9.16mm (height x width x thickness) and weighs 201.00 grams. It was launched in Interstellar silver and Ice age colours.

It may come in India in Silver, Aurora Black and Ice Blue colours.

Connectivity options on the Vivo Z6 5G include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth v5.10, USB Type-C, Wi-Fi Direct, 3G, and 4G with active 4G on both SIM cards. Sensors on the phone include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass/ magnetometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and fingerprint sensor. The Vivo Z6 5G supports face unlock.

Vivo Z6 5G smartphone price in India is likely to be Rs 22,590. Vivo Z6 5G is speculated to be launched in the country in October.

Samsung Galaxy M41

Samsung Galaxy M41 features a 6.3-inch full HD resolution IPS LCD that bears a screen resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels along with a density of 409 PPI.

In terms of cameras, the smartphone has been provided with triple rear camera setup having 64MP main lens, 12MP and 5MP secondary cameras. At the front, it has 24MP selfie camera with features like Digital Zoom, Auto Flash, Face detection, Touch to focus.

The smartphones house a battery that has a capacity of 4,100mAh. However, there is no fast charging support.

Galaxy M41 has been equipped with an octa-core processor that clocks up to 2.3GHz speed. It is seated upon a Samsung Exynos 9 Octa 9609 chipset and is further assisted by Mali-G72 MP3 GPU for graphical requirements. The device has a 6GB RAM that offers amazing gaming and multitasking capabilities.

Samsung Galaxy M41 has been provided with an inbuilt storage of 128GB that can support up to 512GB with the help of a microSD card.

In terms of connectivity, the smartphone supports Wi-Fi 802.11, b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS, Mobile Hotspot, etc. It has 4G network support too with VoLTE connectivity.

Lenovo-owned Motorola’s Edge Lite smartphone comes with a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, having a screen resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a pixel density of 409ppi for a stunning cinematic experience. The smartphone has a refresh rate of 90Hz and an aspect ratio of 20:9.

Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Pro that comes with a 6.47-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels is likely to be launched in India in October.

Asus ZenFone series
