After a hiatus of three years, technology conglomerate Google finally released its flagship smartphone, the Pixel 7, for the world to experience. The company has released two variants of the device, namely the Google Pixel 7 and the Google Pixel 7 Pro. The phones are priced competitively and are set to compete with the likes of Samsung, OnePlus, and Apple, among others.

Both the variants of the Google Pixel 7 come with an in-house set of chips, the Google Tensor G2, making them faster and more efficient than before. On the other hand, Apple’s iPhone 14 is already a hit among mobile photography enthusiasts. Both devices come with a dual camera setup at the back. The Google Pixel 7 has a 50-megapixel main camera and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera. The iPhone 14 features a 12-megapixel main camera as well as a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera. Another thing to be noted is that the base versions of both the phones do not have “Macro” camera option.

iPhone 14 is the first device from Apple to have a Photonic Engine which will help the user to boost low-light camera performance. The engine will run in the background automatically and uses machine learning and new algorithms to boost the performance. iPhone 14’s main camera has sensor shift optical image stabilisation or OIS for short, and it also supports optical zoom up to 2x.

The Google Pixel 7 has a lot to offer as well; for starters, the device has a feature called SuperZoom, which will let users zoom up to 8x; for Google Pixel 7 Pro users, the number goes up to 30x; another software called Magic Eraser will help users unblur old photos; and more. With the Pixel 7, they also introduced Real Tone, which ensures that the camera can accurately display skin tones, especially for those with darker skin.

Let’s now compare other aspects of both the phones iPhone 14 Plus or Pixel 7

The Google Pixel 7 has an edge, as the comparison shows, but that doesn’t mean the iPhone 14 is less of a phone. Google has recognised the importance of providing a pure Google experience, and this phone is proof of that. A massive improvement from its predecessors, this phone is more likely to compete with the iPhone 14 than any other phone. The iPhone 14 appears to be a rehash of the previous iPhone 13, but with a few more features.
