If the device is not eligible for credit, Apple offers free recycling instead. Once the device is inspected and its condition verified, customers do not need to take any further action. If the condition of the device differs from the information provided earlier, a revised trade-in value will be offered. Customers can then choose to accept or reject the new value before proceeding with the exchange. Devices can also be exchanged at an Apple Store during purchase, although the trade-in value offered in-store may differ from the estimated value provided online.
