Micro-blogging site Twitter’s standalone support for Apple Mac is now going dead as the company will take off the app from the web and Apple App Store in the coming 30 days.
The news got confirmed via company’s Tweet via its Twitter Support handle. The company’s aim to kill the app for Mac is to centre its attention on making Twitter similar for all the platforms. Alternatively, Twitter suggests the Mac users to switch the Twitter’s website version via a browser.
We’re focusing our efforts on a great Twitter experience that’s consistent across platforms. So, starting today the Twitter for Mac app will no longer be available for download, and in 30 days will no longer be supported.

Additionally, following the news, Twitterrific for Mac is now available for a laddered down price of $7.99.
To recall, Twitterrific, which recently re-entered, is third-party Twitter app under a Kickstarter campaign. Furthermore, the app comes with various features such as dark mode, themes, support for multiple timelines and accounts, syncing with other iOS devices, customizable fonts, and type sizes. Additionally, it supports Notification Center, Retina displays, built-in sharing and full screen mode, and the ability to edit tweets, among many other features.
