Instagram now allows businesses to schedule posts
Photo-sharing app Instagram has added a new Schedule Posts feature, making it easier for the businesses on the app to manage their accounts with the added functionality.
The new feature (in addition to organic insights viewing and comment moderation) has been incorporated in the Instagram Graph API which will allow various social media applications such as Hootsuite, Sprout Social or SocialFlow to access the feature. Additionally, Instagram will allow businesses to view posts they have been tagged in and can view other business profiles.
Instagram, in its blog post said, “Last year, we began the process of updating the Instagram API to the Instagram Graph API, built on the Facebook Graph API. This change helps businesses manage their organic presence more effectively. Today, we’re introducing new features to the API.”
Furthermore, Instagram will end support for the previous Instagram API by early 2020, fully keeping the Graph API platform.
Additionally, According to a screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, Instagram is rumoured to introduce the video calling feature which the Facebook-owned app is testing. The image features a new icon, hinting at the video calling functionality via Instagram Direct.
