BrainBaazi: An app that takes trivia quizzing to new heights!

BrainBaazi

As the name suggests, BrainBaazi has a lot to do with the application of your brain. It is something that challenges you to answer few questions of general knowledge and win a cash prize instantly. BrainBaazi, a live trivia show app launched by Times Internet in February this year, is somewhat similar to the TV quiz shows – it seems to have adopted the Kaun Banega Crorepati concept and implementing it to accommodate millions of users at once.

The application has garnered a big user base in a short span of time which can be gauged from the fact that it has attained millions of downloads on Google Play and App Store and is ranked among top free gaming apps in India. It currently has over 500K daily concurrent streamers and is growing at a rate of 10% on a daily basis. Although I got eliminated at the seventh question while testing the app, it’s a good experience to share with you.

Simple Interface

BrainBaazi app

As the rule of the game, you need to sign up in the app first, then it comes a small video where the basic rules of the game are instructed. The app has a very simple user interface which makes the game easy to play and earn bucks. One of the best parts with this app is that it offers fast registration and doesn’t have any in-app purchases. The app plays a short video before the quiz begins, in order to keep the users occupied and enthused. The videos not only entertain you but also give a hint to the participants that something related to that could be asked during the show.

Quiz Every Day

The app goes live with a quiz at 1 pm and 9 pm daily. Since anyone can be a part of this show, all participants play the same game simultaneously. The game goes on for a period of about 20 minutes. The questions are trivial and direct and the users are given only 10 seconds to answer, thus making it ‘either you know it or don’t’ type of quiz. After every game, winners are announced. The winners may be one, two, three, four… and so on. Hence, in case of multiple winners, the prize money gets divided amongst them. What makes it even more interesting is that the quiz is interactive in nature, with a quizmaster conducting the show for the entire 20 minutes, giving insights about the various questions along with some exciting trivia. Considering the positive response it is receiving, Times Internet is also reported to be exploring other timings for the quiz as well.

Instant Reward

BrainBaazi app

As far as the winning amount is concerned, BrainBaazi allows users to win instant cash up to Rs 1 lakh by answering 11 questions. The winning amount instantly goes in the PayTM or Mobikwik wallets of the winners. Interestingly, after each question, the players get to know how many users have answered the question correctly, how many of them got eliminated, and how many users are still in the contest. It is enough to give the users the idea of the prize money that they can get. Over all, this is good from the revenue point of view, as users keep logging in to the app repeatedly to play the quiz.

Perfectly Timed

Even though a number of such apps came in the recent past such as Loco, iQLive and Mob Show, BrainBaazi is quite convenient; owing to its cool timing i.e. 1 pm when people, especially professionals are usually free from their work, enjoying their lunch time. Similarly, 9 pm is the time when the people are usually at home relaxing with their family members. Since it is a neatly packaged pre-dinner or post-dinner activity, what can be a better brain exercise than the BrainBaazi where there is also a chance to win money. On the other hand, Loco, which follows the same format as BrainBaazi, goes live at 1.30 pm and 10 pm every day. The other big differentiating factor is the winning amount, which is only Rs 12,500 compared to the huge sum BrainBaazi claims to be offering. The Mob Show is even lesser lucrative. It offers modest rewards in the range of Rs 1,500 to Rs 10,000 and has quizzes at 4 and 7 pm when people are mostly stressed out because of too much work and pressure.

Keeps you Engaged

Although the app is ideal for people who love trivia, the sad part is that it’s hard to make a good amount of money in one go due to its huge user base. One has to be a regular to make more money in one or the other game. No matter how lucky you are, it’s an engaging app that keeps you hooked up and motivated for the next show.
