A fresh leak with leaked images of protective cases has offered an early look at the smartphone’s possible rear camera design. Meanwhile, previous reports have revealed several expected hardware details, including a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor, a 7,200mAh battery and 100W fast charging. Xiaomi 18 Design Details
Apart from the hardware leaks, protective case images have offered an early look at the possible rear design of the Xiaomi 18. The leaked images show black and white protective cases featuring two large circular camera openings, accompanied by a smaller pill-shaped section and another cutout for the LED flash.
This arrangement suggests that Xiaomi could be moving away from the camera island design introduced with the Xiaomi 17 series.
Xiaomi 18 Could Feature Two 200MP Cameras
According to the leaked specifications, the upcoming standard Xiaomi 18 could feature a dual 200-megapixel rear camera setup. It is tipped to include a 200-megapixel primary sensor and a 200-megapixel telephoto camera alongside 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor.
However, details about the exact sensors, optical zoom capabilities and other camera features of the Xiaomi 18 are currently unavailable.
Xiaomi 18 Tipped to Get Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6
The Xiaomi 18 is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset. According to earlier reports, the processor could be manufactured using a 3nm process. For reference, the predecessor Xiaomi 17 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset built on a 3nm process, and comes with an Adreno 840 GPU.
The exact RAM and storage configurations of the Xiaomi 18 have not surfaced yet. However, the new chipset is expected to be one of its major hardware upgrades.
Xiaomi 18 May Pack a 7,200mAh Battery With 100W Charging
Xiaomi 18 is tipped to feature a 7,200mAh battery, which would be a considerable increase over the 6,330mAh battery found in the Xiaomi 17.
The upcoming flagship is also expected to support 100W wired fast charging. Interestingly, if the leaked battery capacity turns out to be accurate, the standard Xiaomi 18 could offer a larger battery than the Xiaomi 18 Pro, which reportedly features a 7,000mAh battery in China.
Xiaomi 18 Could Feature a 6.4-Inch 120Hz OLED Display
According to leaks, the smartphone could feature a 6.4-inch flat OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. This would make it slightly larger than the 6.3-inch display on the Xiaomi 17 while retaining a compact form factor compared to many other flagship smartphones.
However, details about the display’s peak brightness, HDR support and protective glass have not been revealed so far.
Xiaomi 18 Camera Specifications
Based on current leaks, the Xiaomi 18 could feature the following rear camera configuration:
