OPPO India has officially announced Rohit Kumar, an aspiring content creator from Jaipur, as the winner of the OPPO x Discovery Filmmaker Accelerator Program (FMA). Launched in May 2026 under the OPPO LUMO Creator Program, the initiative aims to find and cultivate emerging creative potential in India via hands-on filming experiences. As part of his win, Rohit directed the special festival film ‘Together Makes It Diwali’, filmed exclusively on the recently announced flagship OPPO Find X10 Pro Max.
The film captures the festive mood and emotional warmth of three friends in Jaipur, who try to cook a traditional kheer dish over a video connection with one friend’s mother to cheer up a buddy missing home.
Together Makes It Diwali: Story Behind the Film
The story is set in a lively and vivid festive backdrop of Jaipur. The atmosphere of Diwali is captured via the busy marketplaces, gorgeous flower garlands and residences lighted up with clay lamps. The narrative revolves around a young guy who is away from home for the festival, and the familiar sights trigger intense memories of his family holidays. Two friends contact their friend’s mother to make Kheer to cheer up their friend. The wonderful endeavour brings laughter, charming culinary mistakes, and touching gestures that fill the room, perfectly showcasing how traditions and loved ones can make any space into a home.
OPPO Find X10 Pro Max Used to Shoot Diwali Film
The short film was shot exclusively on the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max, with the professional-grade 4K Cine-Grade HDR video capabilities of the device to capture cinematic images with superior depth and clarity. It uses the next-generation LUMO True Image Engine that provides true-to-life visual storytelling by retaining colours, shadow details and lighting accurately in each frame.
OPPO Filmmaker Accelerator Program Winner Prize Details
Rohit Kumar was awarded Rs 5 lakh cash prize for winning the first edition to support his creative career. He also got a brand new OPPO Find X10 Pro Max smartphone and an official OPPO x Discovery certificate. Besides this, Rohit was also offered the unique chance to work with OPPO for creative projects in the future.
OPPO x Discovery Filmmaker Accelerator Program Season 2 Announced
Following its first edition’s success, OPPO and Discovery have announced the second season of the Filmmaker Accelerator Program. The initiative will continue to uncover, fund and highlight early-stage visual storytellers throughout India. The complete short film titled ‘Together Makes It Diwali’ can be watched on OPPO India’s official website and social media handles, including YouTube and Instagram.
When will OPPO Filmmaker Accelerator Program Season 2 launch?
