Vivo has expanded its affordable 5G smartphone lineup in China with the launch of the Vivo Y6k. The new smartphone comes with a 6,500mAh battery, a 120Hz display and MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 processor. Here is a closer look at its price, specifications and features.

Vivo Y6k Price and Availability
Vivo has launched the Y6k in China with a price tag of 1,599 yuan (approximately $240) for the sole 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant.
The smartphone is available in three colour options, Blue, White and Black. However, Vivo has not yet shared details about its availability in the global markets including India.

The Vivo Y6k features a 6.74-inch LCD with an HD+ resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate and Vivo also claims that the display can reach up to 1,200 nits of brightness in High Brightness Mode (HBM). The front camera is housed inside a waterdrop-style notch.
6,500mAh Battery
The smartphone packs a 6,500mAh battery and supports 15W wired charging.
Vivo claims that the battery can retain its performance for up to five years. While the company has not shared specific endurance figures, the large battery capacity should appeal to users who prioritise longer battery life over faster charging speeds.
Android 16 and Software Features
On the software front, the Vivo Y6k runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16. This brings Vivo’s latest software experience to its affordable smartphone lineup.
Other features include face recognition and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for unlocking the device. The phone also comes with an infrared remote control feature allowing users to operate compatible electronic appliances.
Processor and Performance
The Vivo Y6k is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 chipset, an octa-core processor with a maximum clock speed of 2.4GHz. It is paired with a Mali-G57 GPU for graphics processing.
The smartphone comes with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. This hardware combination is aimed at everyday usage including browsing, social media, video streaming and other routine tasks.
Camera Specifications
For photography, the Vivo Y6k features a 13-megapixel primary rear camera with an f/2.2 aperture. On the front, it gets a 5-megapixel camera with the same f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video calls.
The rear panel features two vertically arranged camera rings, although the phone’s listed primary camera resolution is 13 megapixels.

In terms of design, the Vivo Y6k features a relatively simple rear panel with two vertically arranged circular camera rings. The front gets a waterdrop-style notch for the selfie camera. Vivo is offering the smartphone in three Blue, White and Black colour options.
The device measures 167.4 x 77.1 x 8.39mm and weighs 209 grams. It also comes with an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance along with SGS five-star drop-resistance certification for added durability.
