According to latest reports, Realme has started working on its next-generation Realme 17 series smartphones already. The line up is expected to include a more affordable model, the Realme 17T 5G, this year. New live images of the upcoming smartphone have now surfaced online, revealing its front and rear design. While details about its specs remain limited, the images suggest a few design changes over predecessor Realme 16T.
Realme 17T 5G Design Revealed in Live Images
The live images of the Realme 17T 5G have been exclusively shared by 91mobiles via tipster Sudhanshu. The images reveal both the front and rear design of the upcoming smartphone.
17T 5G appears to feature a punch-hole display with thin bezels. The overall design looks similar to its predecessor Realme 16T, although the bezels appear slimmer on the upcoming model. The difference is particularly noticeable around the bottom bezel, which could offer a more immersive viewing experience.
The rear design, however, seems to have retained the square-shaped camera module but has changed the arrangement of the camera sensors and LED flash. The camera components are now arranged in two smaller horizontal pill-shaped sections instead of three separate markers.
The leaked images show the Realme 17T 5G in a black colour option. However, the company could introduce more colour options when the smartphone launches.
Realme 17T 5G Launch Timeline: What We Know
Realme has not officially confirmed the existence or launch timeline of the Realme 17T 5G. However, the appearance of live images suggests that the company could be working on the smartphone.
There is currently no information about its launch date, pricing or availability in India. More details could emerge as the smartphone gets closer to its official debut.
Realme 17T 5G Specifications: What to Expect
Apart from the design, details about the Realme 17T 5G’s specifications remain under wraps. However, we can expect some improvements considering that the Realme 17T will succeed the Realme 16T.
Realme 16T features a 6.8-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate and up to 1,200 nits of peak brightness. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset and comes with a 50-megapixel rear camera and a 16-megapixel front camera. One of its key highlights is an 8,000mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging.
The Realme 17T 5G is expected to offer upgrades over these specifications, particularly in the processor and camera departments. However, the company could retain some of the existing features to keep the smartphone affordable.
Realme 17T 5G vs Realme 16T: Expected Differences
Based on the leaked images, the Realme 17T 5G will retain the punch-hole display and square-shaped camera module of its predecessor but with slimmer bezels and a revised camera arrangement.
As of now, there is not enough information to determine how much of an upgrade the upcoming smartphone will offer in terms of performance, cameras and battery life.
Since the Realme 17T 5G is expected to be a more affordable alternative to the Realme 17 Pro and Realme 17 Pro+, it could feature modest specification and features. Realme could introduce upgrades to the chipset and cameras to make it different from the Realme 16T.
