What Is Deepinder Goyal’s Temple Wearable

Temple is a pill-shaped head-worn tracker that connects to the temple region, between the forehead and the ear. The device, built by Zomato co-founder Deepinder Goyal, is aimed at cerebral blood flow and cognitive measurements, not ordinary fitness monitoring.

Temple Wearable Features and Specifications

Temple has a minimalist design, with no tactile buttons or conventional straps. It employs optical sensors to detect changes in the vessels and metabolic strain around the superficial temporal artery. Its features and specifications are as follows:

  • Attachment: Skin-friendly, Grips adhesive.
  • Durability & Water Resistance: Can be worn while jogging, swimming, showering or using a sauna.
  • Colour Lineup: Available six colours – True Gold, Rose Gold, Dark Mirror, Deep Blue and two further metallic options for the debut edition.
  • Battery & Power: Comes with a bespoke magnetic charging pod.
  • Other features: Lifetime software access, lifetime replacement Grips, nominal-fee device replacement coverage.

How Does Temple Wearable Work?

Temple’s exclusive technology employs optical sensors to measure how light bounces back after being sent into the skin tissue around your forehead, tracking the movement of cerebral blood flow and volume changes during rest, attention and physical activity. It transforms these physiological data into an Entropy Score, a patented real-time statistic on a scale of 1 to 250 that evaluates the total load on your body. The lower values around 1 indicate heavy physical or mental strain, and the higher numbers show significant physical or mental activity.

Temple Wearable: What Buyers Should Know Before Pre-Ordering

Temple is a niche device, not a casual fitness device, and at Rs 85,000, it is a premium product aimed at early tech adopters, bio-hackers, and researchers. A standard wristwatch is significantly more useful if you only want to count steps or track sleep cycles. But for those who want to measure real-time mental strain, cognitive weariness, and internal stress reactions, Temple gives data that wrist-based sensors can’t collect. The accompanying lifetime subscription and replacement policies also help offset the ongoing costs associated with premium trackers.
