Redmi has today launched two new smartphones to its Note 17 lineup in India, the Redmi Note 17 Pro and Redmi Note 17 Pro Max. While we will cover Redmi Note 17 Pro Max separately, here’s everything you need to know about Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G. The phone is positioned as a mid-range option for buyers looking for long battery life, performance and a sturdy build.
Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G – Price and Availability in India
The official sale of the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G will begin on September 17, 2026.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G comes in two configurations in India. The 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant costs ₹36,999, while the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage version is priced at ₹39,999.
As part of the launch offers, buyers can get an instant bank discount of up to ₹3,000 when using SBI Card, Axis Bank, Kotak and IDFC FIRST Bank cards. Redmi is also bundling its ‘No.1 Care Plan’ worth ₹7,499 with the smartphone at no additional cost.
The Free No.1 Care Plan combines the standard one-year warranty with an additional one-year extended warranty, giving users two years of comprehensive warranty coverage. It also includes one free screen replacement during the two-year period and a free battery replacement if the battery health falls below 80 percent.
Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G – Key Specifications
The Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G features a 6.83-inch 1.5K flat AMOLED display with 12-bit TrueColour support. It has a 120Hz AdaptiveSync refresh rate and can reach a peak brightness of 3,500 nits. The panel also supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+. For eye comfort, Redmi has included 3840Hz PWM dimming, DC dimming and Rhythm Eye-Care 2.0. The display has also received triple TÜV Rheinland certification.
Powering the phone is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset built using a 4nm process. RAM and storage options include 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB. The 128GB version uses LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage, while the 256GB model gets LPDDR4X RAM with UFS 3.1 storage.
The phone also supports 8GB of virtual RAM allowing the total available RAM to reach up to 16GB when required. It runs Android 16-based HyperOS 3 and promises four years of major OS updates and six years of security updates.
Battery capacity is one of the biggest highlights of the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G. The smartphone packs a 9,000mAh silicon-carbon (Si/C) battery, which the company claims can provide more than 3.5 days of usage on a single charge.

It supports 67W TurboCharge with a full 0-to-100 percent charge taking around 80 minutes. The charger is included in the box. The phone can also work as a power source for other devices through 22.5W wired reverse charging. It has received TÜV SÜD 5-Star battery certification for longevity, while Redmi claims that the battery can retain more than 80 percent of its capacity after 1,600 charging cycles.
For photography, the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G has a 50MP AI primary rear camera with OIS, accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide camera for wider shots and group photography. The camera system supports High Dynamic Portrait and Night Portrait modes and can record 4K video at 30fps. Both OIS and EIS are available during video recording.
Redmi has also added an AI Creativity Suite, which includes tools such as AI Erase Pro and AI Expansion. A dedicated Underwater Mode is also included.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G has been designed with durability in mind. It has received SGS Premium 5-Star certification for drop resistance of up to 3 metres on smooth granite surfaces. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The phone carries IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for water and dust resistance. According to the company, it has been tested to remain safe when submerged in water up to 2 metres deep for 72 hours.
Redmi has also included HydroTouch 2.0, which allows the touchscreen to work even when the user’s hands are wet.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G comes with Xiaomi Offline Communication, which enables messaging over a distance of up to 1 kilometre without a mobile network.
Other features include HyperIsland, Google Gemini, Circle to Search, an in-display fingerprint sensor and an IR remote.
