Vivo is set to unveil its X500 series lineup on September 21 at 7 PM in China. The brand has been gradually confirming several hardware details of the upcoming Vivo X500 Series. Previously, key details of the standard Vivo X500 were confirmed via an official teaser on Weibo. And now, a hands-on image of the same Vivo X500 has revealed several details that the brand has not officially announced yet. The information includes the phone’s chipset, RAM, storage and battery capacity.
Vivo X500 Hands-on Image Leaks, Confirm Dimensity 9600M Chip
A tipster account named Panda is Bald on Weibo has shared an image that shows the Settings screen of the Vivo X500 after getting hands-on with the device. The image gives a closer look at some of its key specifications.
According to the information visible in the hands-on image, the Vivo X500 will be powered by the Dimensity 9600M chipset. The chip is shown running at 4.21GHz across its eight cores.
The standard configuration of the phone will reportedly include 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Vivo will also support virtual memory expansion of up to 24GB, while storage can be expanded by up to 50GB through compression.
The Dimensity 9600M is particularly interesting as this is the first mention or on-device confirmation of the chipset. The chip is likely based on the Dimensity 9500, which was previously rumoured to be rebranded for some 2026 flagship smartphones.
Vivo X500 to Pack 7,500mAh Battery
The same hands-on images also revealed that the Vivo X500 will be powered by a 7,500mAh battery. This gives another key detail about the phone ahead of its official launch.
Vivo X500 Camera Details
For photography, the Vivo X500 will use the same main camera sensor found on the X300 Pro. It is a Blueprint-branded Sony LYTIA-828 sensor measuring 1/1.28-inch. Vivo says this is the largest main camera sensor it has used on a standard X-series model.
The main camera will also feature Zeiss gimbal-level stabilisation and carry a CIPA 5.5 stabilisation rating.
The telephoto camera, meanwhile, has been borrowed from the X500 Pro. It will use the Sony LYTIA-610 sensor found in the Pro model’s APO telephoto camera setup. This camera also has a CIPA 5.5 stabilisation rating and can record 4K video at 120fps for slow-motion footage.
Vivo could also offer the standard X500 with support for a dedicated teleconverter. The compact accessory is designed to extend the phone’s telephoto capabilities. As for image processing, it will be handled by Vivo’s Blueprint V3+ imaging chip.
The brand will introduce the X500 series alongside several other products at the launch event on September 21st.
