Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 17 5G in India after recently introducing both 4G and 5G versions of the smartphone in global markets. The latest Redmi phone arrives with a large 7,900mAh battery, Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset and a display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Redmi 17 5G Price and Availability in India
The newly launched Redmi 17 5G will go on sale in India from September 10, 2026 at 12 PM IST. Buyers will be able to purchase the smartphone through Amazon India, Xiaomi India’s official website and other major retail stores.
As for pricing, the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant of the smartphone is effectively priced at Rs 23,999, while the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model costs Rs 26,999.
The smartphone is available in three colour options named Eternal Orange, Endless Blue and Absolute Black.
Redmi 17 5G Key Specifications
The Redmi 17 5G features a 6.9-inch (17.53cm) HD display with support for up to a 120Hz AdaptiveSync refresh rate. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and comes with slimmer bezels compared to its predecessor.
The display has also received TÜV Rheinland certifications for Low Blue Light, Flicker-Free and Circadian Friendly viewing. For audio, the smartphone comes with dual stereo speakers that can deliver up to a 300% volume boost.
The Redmi 17 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processor paired with 6GB and 8GB RAM options and 128GB of internal storage. The 8GB RAM variant also supports memory extension, allowing the total available RAM to reach up to 16GB. On the software front, the Redmi 17 5G runs Xiaomi HyperOS 3 and includes Xiaomi HyperIsland. Xiaomi also claims that the phone can provide a ‘like-new’ software experience for up to 48 months.
The phone packs a 7,900mAh typical battery and supports 45W Turbo Charging. It also supports up to 22.5W wired reverse charging, allowing the device to be used to charge other compatible devices.
For photography, the Redmi 17 5G comes with a 50MP AI dual-camera setup on the rear. The phone also supports dual-video recording, which lets users record video using the front and rear cameras at the same time.
The design of the Redmi 17 5G includes an Astral Metal Deco camera module with a dynamic RGB camera-ring light. The RGB lighting offers eight different backlight colours and can be used for notifications, charging status, gaming effects and camera activity.
