Redmi M100 Launched in China with Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 and 7,900mAh battery

Redmi has introduced a new smartphone series in China with the launch of the Redmi M100. The smartphone was quietly made official in the country and is already available for purchase. Here’s everything you need to know about the new model, starting with its price and availability.

Redmi M100 – Price and Availability

The Redmi M100 is priced at 1,799 yuan (around $266) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The 6GB RAM + 256GB model costs 1,999 yuan (around $296), while the top-end 8GB RAM + 256GB version is priced at 2,199 yuan (around $325).

The smartphone is available in three colour options named Midnight Black, Starry White and Wilderness Green.

Redmi M100 – Design and Key Features

The Redmi M100 sports a four-dimensional micro-curved rear design, while the camera module gets RGB dynamic lighting.

It features a large 6.9-inch LCD display offering a 1600 × 720-pixel resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen also comes with eye-protection features and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. In terms of durability, the phone offers dust and splash resistance and is rated to withstand up to 500,000 fingerprint touches.

One of the biggest highlights of the Redmi M100 is its large 7,900mAh battery. The phone supports 45W wired charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging. It also supports the PPS charging protocol, allowing users to charge it with compatible third-party fast chargers.

Under the hood, the Redmi M100 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 mobile platform built on a 4nm process and featuring an octa-core CPU. The same mobile platform is also used in other Xiaomi smartphones including the Redmi 17 5G.

For photography, the Redmi M100 features a 13MP primary rear camera. The camera supports several features including film filters, portrait mode, night mode, live photos, dual-view shooting, Pro mode, and document scanning. On the front, the phone gets a 5MP camera that supports features such as beauty mode, face recognition, portrait mode, and night mode.

The Redmi M100 runs Xiaomi’s Surge OS 3 out of the box.

Redmi has also added a senior care mode aimed at older users and to make the smartphone easier for seniors to read, hear and use. The mode offers larger icons and fonts, media and ringtone volume of up to 300% and an option to block unwanted calls.

Other features include NFC, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
