Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold8, expanding its latest foldable smartphone lineup. The new passport-style foldable introduces a new form factor with a Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset, up to 16GB of RAM and as much as 1TB of onboard storage. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 – Price and Availability
Samsung has priced the Galaxy Z Fold8 starting at $1,900 (roughly Rs. 1,64,000) for the base variant with 12GB + 256GB of storage in the US. The smartphone is also available in 12GB + 512GB and 16GB RAM + 1TB storage options. India prices for all variants are as follows –
- 12GB RAM + 256GB – ₹1,79,999
- 12GB RAM + 512GB – ₹1,99,999
- 16GB RAM + 1TB – ₹2,39,999
It is available for pre-orders starting today in select markets.
Galaxy Z Fold8 comes in Graphite, Cream and Lavender with Pistachio available as an online-exclusive paint job.
As part of launch offers, Samsung is also bundling a six-month Google AI Pro subscription with the new Galaxy Z Fold 8. Customers who purchase the Galaxy Z Fold 8 through Samsung’s online store and sign up for a monthly Samsung Care+ plan will receive the first three months of coverage at no additional cost.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 – Key Specifications
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 introduced a fresh and exciting form factor that provides a new kind of foldable experience. It is designed around the way people explore, discover and immerse themselves in their favourite content. In terms of design, the Galaxy Z Fold8 measures 81.9 x 123.9 x 9.7mm when folded and 161.4 x 123.9 x 4.5mm when unfolded, excluding the frame of the main display. The smartphone weighs 201g.
The phone sports a 7.6-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display with a resolution of 1,848 x 2,448 pixels, 403ppi pixel density, an adaptive refresh rate of 1Hz to 120Hz, and Vision Booster technology for improved visibility in bright conditions. On the outside, the phone features a 5.5-inch WUXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover display with a resolution of 1,248 x 1,972 pixels, 428ppi pixel density, a 1Hz to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and Vision Booster support.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 is available in Graphite, Cream, and Lavender colour options.
The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor. It is offered in three memory and storage variants including 12GB RAM + 256GB storage, 12GB RAM + 512GB storage, and 16GB RAM + 1TB storage.
For photography, the Galaxy Z Fold8 features a dual rear camera setup comprising a 50MP wide-angle primary camera with Dual Pixel autofocus, Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), an f/1.8 aperture, 1.0μm pixel size, an 85-degree field of view, and support for 2x optical quality zoom. It is paired with a 50MP ultra-wide camera that offers Quad Pixel autofocus, an f/1.9 aperture, a 120-degree field of view, and a 0.7μm pixel size.
The smartphone also includes a 10MP selfie camera on the cover display with an f/2.2 aperture, 1.12μm pixel size, and an 85-degree field of view along with another 10MP camera on the main screen featuring an f/2.2 aperture, 1.12μm pixel size, and a 100-degree field of view.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 packs a 4,800mAh dual battery with support for 45W wired fast charging, which Samsung claims can charge the battery up to 63 percent in around 30 minutes using a compatible 45W adapter and 3A USB-C cable. The smartphone also supports 20W fast wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare.
On the software front, the device runs Android 17 with One UI 9. Connectivity options include 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 6.0. The foldable also comes with an IP48 rating for water resistance.
