Motorola has launched the Motorola Edge 70 Max in India, expanding its premium smartphone portfolio. The new flagship comes with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, a large 7,100mAh Silicon-Carbon battery, a 144Hz Quad HD+ AMOLED display, and Android 16 out of the box. The phone also features a premium glass-and-metal design, IP69/IP68 protection, MIL-STD 810H durability and support for 90W wired fast charging. Here’s everything you should know about the new phone.
Motorola Edge 70 Max – Price and Availability
The Motorola Edge 70 Max sale in India is set to start on 20 July, 2026. The is available in two storage variants –
- 8GB + 256GB – Rs 54,999
- 12GB + 256GB – Rs 59,999
With launch offers, the phone is available at an effective starting price of Rs 49,999.
The smartphone comes in three Pantone-inspired colour options named Pantone Aqua Gray (Green), Pantone Dark Shadow (Black) and Pantone Ice Melt (Light Blue).
Motorola Edge 70 Max – Key Features
The Motorola Edge 70 Max sports a 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED display with Quad HD+ (1440 x 3168 pixels) resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch sampling rate, and 7,000 nits peak brightness. The panel supports HDR10+, 10-bit colour, 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut, Pantone Validated Colour, Pantone SkinTone validation, Water Touch, and an Always-On Display.
It also carries SGS Blue Light Reduction and SGS Motion Blur Reduction certifications. The display delivers a 510ppi pixel density and a 96.8 percent screen-to-body ratio.
The device features a premium build with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection on both the front and back paired with an aircraft-grade aluminium frame. It measures 164 x 77 x 8.29mm and weighs 221g. The phone is also rated IP68 and IP69 for dust and water resistance and meets MIL-STD 810H durability standards.
Powering the smartphone is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset featuring an octa-core CPU with two Prime cores clocked up to 3.8GHz and six Performance cores up to 3.3GHz, along with a GPU that supports hardware-accelerated ray tracing.
The phone is available with 8GB or 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.1 storage. It runs Android 16 and Motorola has promised three years of Android OS updates and five years of security updates.
For photography, the Motorola Edge 70 Max houses a 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA 710 primary camera with a 2.0µm Quad Pixel sensor, all-pixel autofocus, f/1.8 aperture, and optical image stabilisation (OIS). It is accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera with a 119-degree field of view, autofocus support, macro functionality, and an f/2.2 aperture, along with a dedicated 2-in-1 light sensor and an LED flash.
The camera system includes features such as Auto Motion Capture, Auto Night Vision, Auto Smile Capture, Dual Capture Video, Face Retouch, Frame Match, Gesture Capture, Google Lens, HDR, Live Filters, Macro, Night Vision, Panorama, Pantone SkinTone Validated, Pantone Validated Colour, Photo Booth, Photo Enhancement Engine, Portrait Mode (24mm, 35mm and 50mm), Pro Mode, Adobe Scan-powered Scan, Signature Style, Smart Colour Watermark, and Ultra Resolution. Google Photos AI tools including Auto Enhance, HDR Effect, Magic Eraser, Magic Editor, Portrait Blur, Photo Unblur, Photo to Video, Portrait Light, and Sky are also supported.
For video recording, the rear camera supports 4K HDR10+ recording at 30fps and 60fps, Full HD recording, and slow-motion recording at up to 240fps. Other video features include Adaptive Stabilisation, Audio Zoom, Dual Capture, Face Retouch, Horizon Lock, Live Filters, Slow Motion, Video HDR, and Timelapse.
On the front, the phone features a 32-megapixel selfie camera with a 1.4µm sensor and an f/2.2 aperture.
The smartphone packs a 7,100mAh Silicon-Carbon battery, which Motorola claims can deliver up to 58 hours of battery life, 42 hours of continuous video playback, 25 hours of uninterrupted gaming, 10 hours of video recording, 27 hours of social media usage, and 88 hours of music streaming. It supports 90W TurboPower wired charging, 25W Qi2 magnetic wireless charging, and 5W wired reverse charging.
Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, USB Type-C (USB 2.0), Dual SIM (Nano SIM + eSIM), and support for multiple positioning systems including GPS, AGPS, LTEPP, SUPL, Glonass, Galileo, NavIC, BeiDou, and QZSS.
For audio, the Motorola Edge 70 Max features dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio, and Hi-Res Audio Wireless support. It also includes two microphones.
Security features include an in-display fingerprint scanner, Face Unlock, and ThinkShield security. The phone also supports Google Gemini for AI-powered voice assistance.
