CMF by Nothing has now confirmed that it will not launch the CMF Phone 3 Pro this year ending months of speculation. Meanwhile, Nothing teased upcoming products by positing Pokemon-themed teasers on official social media pages just a day ago. Here’s more on recent developments.
CMF Phone 3 Pro Won’t Launch This Year (Confirmed)
Nothing and CMF co-founder Akis Evangelidis has confirmed that the brand has decided to skip launching a new smartphone in 2026. Evangelidis, in a post on X, explained that rising memory and storage costs played a major role in the decision.
Evangelidis said that it is difficult for the brand to offer any meaningful upgrade over the current CMF Phone 2 Pro without significantly increasing costs due to current market situation.
The executive revealed that the company had been working on a successor to the CMF Phone 2 Pro. However, after evaluating the situation, CMF decided it would rather delay the product than release a smartphone without any substantial upgrades.
He further stated that the company wanted to be transparent with its community instead of launching what many users might view as a minor or iterative upgrade. The decision highlights a challenge currently affecting much of the smartphone industry. Memory and storage component prices have been increasing, putting pressure on brands operating in the budget and mid-range segments.
CMF has built its identity around offering strong specifications at aggressive prices. Raising prices substantially could weaken one of the brand’s biggest advantages. To recall, the CMF Phone 2 Pro was introduced in April 2025 with a starting price of Rs 18,999.
New CMF and Nothing Products Still on the Way
While there will be no CMF Phone 3 Pro this year, the company says it still has several products planned for the remainder of 2026.
Evangelidis confirmed that CMF is working on multiple new launches including products from entirely new categories. He also hinted that Nothing’s smartphone launch roadmap for the year is not yet complete suggesting another smartphone announcement could arrive in the coming months.

In the meantime, Nothing has started a fresh round of its teaser campaign using Pokémon-themed clues. The company recently shared images of Blastoise and Jumpluff in its signature dot-matrix style hinting at at least two upcoming products.
Nothing traditionally assigns Pokémon-themed internal codenames to its products and uses these characters as launch teasers. While the company has not officially revealed what the latest teasers are about, industry speculation suggests that a new smartphone and a pair of wireless earbuds could be in development.
Interestingly, Nothing India has also shared the Blastoise teaser indicating that at least one of the upcoming products is expected to launch in the Indian market.
For now, CMF fans may have to wait longer for a new smartphone but Nothing appears ready to expand its portfolio with other devices before the year ends.
