The upcoming Vivo X Fold 6 continues to make headlines ahead of its official debut. After the company recently confirmed the device and live images surfaced online showcasing the foldable in a blue-green colour option, a fresh leak has now revealed one of its most significant software upgrades.
A newly surfaced video shared on Weibo by user V Powder Intelligence Bureau reportedly shows the Vivo X Fold 6 running a new multitasking feature called Atomic Workbench. The feature is designed specifically for foldable devices and aims to make better use of the large internal display by enhancing productivity and multi-app usage.
Vivo X Fold 6 to Introduce Enhanced Multitasking
According to the leaked footage, Atomic Workbench will offer several multitasking modes tailored for the foldable form factor. One of the highlighted features is a serial mode that reportedly allows users to run up to five applications simultaneously.
The interface is said to be optimised in a way that gives more screen space to foreground applications and helping users focus on active tasks while keeping other apps accessible.
The leak also showcases a one-screen four-use mode, enabling four different applications to run on the same display at the same time. In addition, the multitasking system is expected to support a parallel mode, where each application operates independently without affecting the performance or workflow of other running apps.

Gesture Controls and Productivity Features
The video further reveals several gesture-based controls integrated into the new multitasking experience. In the one-screen four-use mode, users can reportedly drag a central corner marker to resize application windows and allocate more screen space to specific apps as needed.
Another gesture shown in the leak allows users to place four fingers on the display to instantly enlarge a selected application window and making content easier to read and interact with.
These features appear to be aimed at improving productivity on the foldable’s large inner screen allowing users to manage multiple tasks more efficiently.
OriginOS 6 Fold to Debut With Atomic Workbench
The new multitasking capabilities are expected to be part of OriginOS 6 Fold and Vivo’s upcoming software platform designed for foldable devices. The operating system is set to debut alongside the Vivo X Fold 6 and is expected to place a strong focus on productivity tools and AI-driven features.
Previously, Vice President of Product at Vivo, Huang Tao revealed that the foldable smartphone would bring several new features including the upgraded Atomic Workbench system, an AI Assistant, dual-device support and additional enhancements to on-device AI functionality and AI interaction experiences.
Meanwhile, Vivo has already confirmed that the X Fold 6 will launch in June.
