Oppo has undoubtedly been leading the smartphone camera technology for last few years. And now a new leak from well-known tipster Digital Chat Station suggests that Oppo may once again hold a unique position when it comes to camera tech in the Android flagship market next year. Here’s more on this recent update.
Oppo Find X10 Ultra Camera Tech

According to the latest information, the upcoming Oppo Find X10 Ultra could be the only premium Android smartphone in 2027 to feature a dual periscope camera setup combined with a dedicated 10x super telephoto lens.
The tipster claims that among next-generation top-tier Android flagships currently in development, the Find X10 Ultra appears to be the sole device retaining this advanced camera configuration.
DCS further hints that Oppo is planning additional improvements to the camera system compared to its predecessor although specific details about those upgrades have not yet been revealed.
The latest claim aligns with previous reports surrounding the Find X10 Ultra. The flagship is expected to feature a 6.89-inch 2K LTPO OLED display and pack a battery exceeding 7,000mAh. It is also rumoured to debut with Samsung’s next-generation 200-megapixel HPA LOFIC primary camera sensor.
Oppo is expected to unveil the Ultra variant during the first half of 2027 after introducing the rest of the Find X10 series.
Vivo X500 Ultra Reportedly Abandons 10x Zoom Plans

The more surprising part of the DCS’s recent post is, however, about a rival Android flagship that was previously rumoured to be testing a dedicated 10x telephoto camera.
According to Digital Chat Station, one smartphone manufacturer had been evaluating such a camera solution but development of the latest prototype has now reportedly been cancelled. Although the tipster did not directly name the brand, recent leaks strongly suggest the device in question is the Vivo X500 Ultra.
Vivo is instead said to be continuing with its existing camera strategy that combines a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with ISZ (In-Sensor Zoom) technology.
Just a few days ago, reports indicated that Vivo was testing a dedicated 10x telephoto camera for its next Ultra flagship. Had it reached production, it would have represented a major upgrade over the Vivo X300 Ultra, which features a single 200-megapixel periscope camera delivering approximately 3.7x optical zoom.
However, the latest leak suggests Vivo has decided not to move forward with that hardware. If accurate, the company will instead continue relying on its established combination of a high-resolution periscope sensor and in-sensor zoom technology rather than introducing a dedicated long-range 10x telephoto lens.
