Design and Comfort
The HyperX Cloud Jet gaming headphones have a simple and practical design. It doesn’t try to look overly aggressive or flashy and follows the familiar HyperX style. We used the black colour unit for this review and it has a classic gaming headphone vibe.
The headset uses a circumaural closed-back design, which means the earcups fully cover your ears and help block out outside noise. This makes it easier to stay focused during gameplay, especially in slightly noisy environments.
The build feels sturdy enough for everyday use even though these headphones are quite lightweight at around 298 grams. The ear cushions use breathable mesh foam and feel quite soft. We also felt the design makes sure it doesn’t trap too much heat and stays comfortable even during long sessions.
The elastic suspension headband distributes weight evenly across your head and reduces pressure points. Even after extended gaming sessions, we never felt that the headset was overly tight or heavy. The clamping force is balanced and secure enough to stay in place

Sound Quality and Microphone
For sound, HyperX Cloud Jet features 40mm drivers and the tuning leans into what HyperX calls its “signature sound.”
The sound is balanced with enough punch in the lows to make explosions and gunfire feel satisfying, while still keeping footsteps and dialogue clear. It’s not overly bass-heavy and doesn’t sound sharp or harsh either. For everyday gaming, it hits a comfortable middle ground.
We also felt that these HyperX headphones do a decent job of blocking out background noise. We were able to focus on what’s happening in-game without too many distractions. It’s not active noise cancellation, of course, but it works well enough for a passive design.
The swivel-to-mute boom mic is super practical. All you have to do is just flip it up to mute and you’re done. Voice clarity is solid and the unidirectional mic does a decent job of focusing on your voice rather than picking up everything happening around you.
It is clear that Cloud Jet isn’t trying to compete with high-end audiophile headsets. It basically delivers clear, reliable game audio and dependable voice chat. If you are a gamer, these are honestly the things you will most likely need from a set of gaming headphones.

One of the highlights of HyperX Cloud Jet is that it comes with dual wireless setup. So, you get both 2.4GHz wireless via the USB dongle and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity option. This switching between devices really easy. We used the 2.4GHz connection for low latency while gaming on your PC and was able to switch over to Bluetooth to take a call or connect to our phone. It’s simple and extremely practical if you use multiple devices daily.
The 2.4GHz connection feels stable and responsive during gameplay. Bluetooth is more suited for casual gaming, music or mobile use.
Battery life is rated at up to 25 hours and it is pretty solid for a headset in this category. We found it to be more than enough for several gaming sessions before needing to recharge. Yes, it may not be class-leading, but it’s definitely reliable.
The onboard controls are easy to reach and intuitive. You can adjust volume, mute the mic and switch between wireless modes directly from the headset. There is not need to dig into software menus mid-game.
All in all, we found Cloud Jet to be simple in operation when it comes to everyday use. Whether you’re gaming on PC or a console or connecting to your phone, the setup and controls give a smooth experience.
